Tee-rific news! Golf is back. And, believe it or not, people are very excited about it. The PGA Tour returns tomorrow for the first time since mid-March, when the coronavirus outbreak canceled sports worldwide.

The top golfers in the world will tee off at the Charles Schwab Challenge in Fort Worth, Texas.

Of course, the game will look a little different. The first four tournaments will not have any fans in the galleries. Plus, all players, caddies, and essential personnel will be tested for the coronavirus.

Golf’s timing is pretty good. Its return comes at a time when most major sports are still on hold. And with less competition from other sports, golf could attract more viewers than it usually does.

PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan said that the pent up demand for sports has also led to a huge increase in sports betting. “There’s over a $3 million pool from DraftKings,” he said. “I believe that’s the largest ever at any professional golf event.”

“This is a great opportunity for golf to grow even more, and hopefully people that maybe don’t usually watch golf can see that we’re the best players in the world and the best at our craft,” said professional golfer Justin Thomas. “We can do some pretty unbelievable stuff with the golf ball, so hopefully everybody will enjoy.”
