Canva, an Australian design start-up, has raised $60 million in its latest investment round. That brings its valuation to $6 billion, according to the company.
Canva calls itself the “design platform for non-designers.” The startup has recently surged in popularity thanks to its easy-to-use app with free templates for designing everything from logos to Instagram posts. It’s graphic design for non-design pros.
Canva now has over 30 million monthly active users across 190 countries. 1.5 million of those users pay for Canva Pro, the main revenue generator for the company.
With its shiny new $6 billion valuation, Canva is now one of the world’s top so-called “unicorn” companies — private startup companies valued at over $1 billion.
