Looking for plant-based burgers without the exorbitant price tag? You’re in luck! Beyond Meat announced that it will sell value packs of its meatless burgers — just in time for summer barbecue season.

The “cookout classic” box will include 10 meatless patties with a suggested retail price of $15.99, or $6.40 per pound, bringing it closer to the price of traditional beef.

  • Beef patties were selling for $5.26 per pound this week

It’s the lowest price point Beyond Meat patties have ever hit. It’s also a price that’s competitive with some traditional meat patties. And they’re not stopping there. Beyond Meat has said it aims to price its vegan products comparably to their meat equivalents by 2024.

“This forward-looking pricing represents an important milestone along our journey to make Beyond Meat more accessible to all consumers,” Beyond Meat founder and CEO Ethan Brown said in a statement.

The value pack will be carried in the frozen meat aisles of Walmart, Target, and select other retailers starting June 22. (Just in time for your July 4th socially distanced vegan cookout!)

Beyond Meat has continued to enjoy healthy growth despite the pandemic. In fact, shares have nearly doubled since the beginning of the year.

Beyond Meat is going above and Beyond expectations.
