Zogo Launches ‘Humans of Credit Unions’ Facebook Page to Share Members’ Financial Challenges

Durham, NC – February 27, 2020 – Award-winning, mobile financial literacy app provider Zogo has launched the “Humans of Credit Unions” Facebook page to share personal stories from CU members about their financial challenges.

Since launching only 3 months ago on the app store, the Zogo financial literacy app now has 13,000 users and is adding thousands of users every week. Zogo asked its users, who are mainly CU members, to anonymously share their “worst financial decisions” and have accumulated over 400 first-hand narratives.

According to Zogo’s Director of Marketing Lisa Mercer, Humans of Credit Unions came about from the very popular “Humans of New York” Instagram site that displays personal stories from random New Yorkers on their lives. The stories in “Humans of Credit Unions” expose the unfortunate lack of financial education for today’s young adults, leaving them vulnerable to possible hardships down the road.

“We want to share the stories and the realities of what’s going on out there with young adults and their lack of financial knowledge,” states Mercer. “Humans of Credit Unions was launched to bring out these stories so that something can be done to help. This is where credit unions can step in once again and provide a helping hand. That’s our goal with Humans of Credit Unions.”
